Awesome list. I haven't read The Last Battle in years. I wonder if it's the same a second time around.

It's February already and I've been bad; I have yet to finish a single book! *insert horrified shriek here* I know, I know! how could I?! Ok, no problem. I still have eleven months to kick out 50 books (simple mathematics gives me 4.5 books/month).…

Hi Jodatha, I'd certainly say a manuscript counts! If your friends publish them, let us know. ^^ Winter in Alaska, hum? Sounds cold (then again, 30°F is cold to me!) Stay warm.

Ok... January was horrible; I didn't read anything. February will be different, though, and I've already started reading. Fingers crossed!

I know, I'm a bit late in starting this thread but better late than never, right? You've had 30 days (and then some) to dust off the TBR pile and start reading. The question now is: how'd you do? Let us know what you read, how you liked it, and if yo…

Bookworms do it on a weekly basis. Bibliophiles have been known to do it once a month. College students do it at the end of every semester. What am I talking about? Reading for 24 hours straight! Now's your chance to drink coffee all day, sit in be…

Welcome to 50/10!

Wait, what's that? Read 50 books in 2010?! No way!

To some, this is easy. To others, it's a daunting task. Don't worry; whether you manage to read 10 books or 100, the point of this challenge is to have fun while expanding your literary world.

Now's the chance to think about what you plan on reading, spoof up your profiles, introduce yourselves, say HI to your fellow bookworms, or join a reading group.

Be sure to use the hash-tag #50/10 when talking about us on twitter, too!

If you have any questions, now's the time to ask! Don't be afraid to dive in, either.

It's February already and I've been bad; I have yet to finish a single book! *insert horrified shriek here* I know, I know! how could I?! Ok, no problem. I still have eleven months to kick out 50 books (simple mathematics gives me 4.5 books/month). Yah, I can do this!

I pulled three books off my list of last month and placed them on this month's list. The other two books are class related (well, Pi isn't, b… Continue

Tips for starting a Reading Diary

From: http://deweydivas.blogspot.com/2009/12/tips-for-starting-reading-diary.html

1. Begin with a beautiful notebook or journal that inspires you to write
in it. Many stationary stores carry specific reading journals. You can also
use a diary or a blank notebook. It should be small and light enough to
tuck into a purse or briefcase.

2. Give yourself lots of space for each entry,
at least o… Continue

Let's go for 75...

Good to have this up and running again. Perhaps I'll be better at updating this year? I've at least gotten better at updating my Goodreads account, so that's a step in the right direction. So far this year I've read 3 published books and 2 manuscripts from friends. Do those count? I think they count. So, five and January's not even over! That's a pretty good start. Woot.
...It's winter in Alaska. Some people ski. I read.
Lots of good stuff coming out this year, hope I can keep up with it all. TT… Continue

Book #1 for 2010

I just finished The Lovely Bones by Alice Sebold, an excellent read! I’m looking forward to seeing the movie when it comes out.
