.

I don't know if anyone would be interested or not, but I thought I'd ask.
Usually when I read a book I'll keep it...but there are quite a few that I would gladly pass on if someone else wanted it. One that I know of right now would be Silent in the Grave, Deanna Raybourn's first one. I realize a lot of people use the library, but I tend to buy books if they are inexpensive...and I know of at least one person who can't read it because their library lost it.

Question is: Would anyone be interested in a 'book swap' or maybe listing books that they would give away?

I would be interested in a book swap, but I have promised to send all of my books to my friend who is an avid reader and is living in China. She has a hard time buying a good selection of books there. So I save all my books and send them to her. :) Sorry. Have you thought about paperback swap? It's a book swap...and you even get 2 credits (1 credit = 1 book) for putting 10 books on line. Here is the link http://www.paperbackswap.com/index.php If you decide to sign up if you will tell them I recommended you (ReadingDerby) I will get a free book too. My MIL gave me some Harliquans that I posted there...I knew my China freind wasn't interested in these. I am going to search out garage sale books this summer too to put on there! ! :) You can also purchase credits (3 for $10.95). Which for us is better than the used book store!!

I have only "sold" one book, but have received several and it works great!

That sounds like a cool idea, Kendra. I think we should figure out the best way to implement that into 50/08.

As for Silent in the Grave, I don't know if I was the one you were referring to, but my library finally got it back in and I finished it last night.

I do use the library a lot lately, but I also do buy books when I get the chance. I usually only read them once though, and some I'd like to keep and some I wouldn't mind exchanging. Let's see what everyone else thinks of the idea and go from there.

Book swaps are great, but the majority of my books are ARCs and not to be re-distributed (though can I help it if 'strange people' wonder into my office and snatch from my 'already read' pile?). I usually take my newer books and donate them to my local library or 'release' books older than 5 years through bookcrossing.com. If any of you join, tell them thegildedpen referred you. (I can't remember my personal login again...) But I can always have a blog post with a list of titles that I can send out or trade.
