I just finished Silent in the Grave by Deanna Raybourn last night.
It was 500+ pages, but it was really a quick read. The premise was not unlike things I've read before, but as I got into it I realized it was different in so many ways. The author took her time telling the story, and rather than being bored by that, I felt an ever-increasing suspense that got me quite engrossed in the story. There were a lot of twists and turns and many things that surprised even me. It was dark, enigmatic and included many interesting characters. I'm fairly impressed and I would recommend it to anyone who likes Victorian era mysteries.
