50/08

.

Last year, when I set out to read 50 in '07, I devised this great plan. I wrote down the genres I wanted to read (mystery, classic, young adult, nonfiction, and current bestsellers). Then I picked X number of books for each genre. And then I picked and placed books from my wanna-read list, and planned it out week-for-week.

I didn't read anything in the order I planned. And I didn't read a lot on the list.

Turns out I'm a mood reader. Sometimes I can handle something big and meaty, other times I want something slow and mellow. Other times I just want something to devour fast.

I would, however, like to better discipline myself this time around.

So, do you have a plan? A TBR list? Anything of the sort?

I do have quite a big TBR list already! I'm excited about this coming year of reading. I had a tentative list this year, but I ended up changing it a lot, as I came across new books to add.

I think that after hurrying the last couple of months to meet my quota, I have really got into the swing of things and should be off to a solid start next year. Who knows, maybe I'll surpass 50!

I did the same thing, had it all planned out and ended up only reading a couple of books off my list....I might make a plan, but not now, I'm too busy reading:-)

No plan except to get through fifty books in my to-be-read pile. :)

I'd say that's a mighty good plan, Cass.

I'm a mood reader as well. I have a pretty sizeable pile of books waiting to be read because when I bought them they sounded good, but I haven't found my way back to them yet to actually read them. I keep getting sidetracked by other new releases or new discoveries of older books! So there will be no big plan for me, I will go with what I feel like reading at the time. :)

This is my first year doing this, but I have signed up for several challenges (4-5) which encompas about 25-30 books, so I would say that that is my plan. I would like to do more to read the books I own. I have a huge TBR list as well as a book shelf of books I own that I haven't read yet.

I have a friend in China who really wants all the books that I have finished (that I own) because she is a speed reader and desperate for more books...so I should concentrate more on finishing the books that I own. :)
