To answer my own question, I'm reading The Expert Maid-Servant, an old guide for housekeepers, since I'm writing about the upper class in 1916 New York. It's pretty interesting--much of it is applicable for modern-day employers.

I'd love some suggestions! I just picked up a book from the Write Great Fiction series called Plot and Structure. I can barely get through a single chapter because everytime I pick it up I get so psyched I have to stop reading to write, LOL.
I'm on the lookout for fictional books with the same settings and such as what I'm writing. There must be a ton out there, but I'm not finding. Ah well. Wikipedia is also my friend.

What era/setting are you working on? I'm excited to see what you're coming up with!

modern Hollywood - I'm having a hard time finding simple real-life(like) stories about the simple day to day life in the industry. Naturally there's more to it, but the surroundings start there. I'll also need a bit on historical hollywood, but, oddly enough, that's much easier to find. I'm surprised at how difficult it's been to find information that isn't E! Hollywood Story LOL
