I have been sooo very behind in my blogging about my reads. Things have been so crazy and I just haven't done it. So here is a little break down on the books I've read so far. I have to say, though there are not near as many as others, I'm pretty impressed with how much I've read so far. I do have a lot to read to make the 50/08!
Louder Than Words: A Mother's Journey in Healing Autism by Jenny McCarthy
I read this out of the interest in her way of dealing with her son's autism. I have a friend who's daughter is autistic and I know that she has struggled with finding what works in treating her. This was a very quick read and informative as well.
The Prodigal Comes Home: My Story of Failure and God's Story of Redemption by Michael English
I was looking forward to reading this book for quite some time. I was first introduced to Michael English and his music when I began dating my husband. I had known that Michael had gone through a series of struggles that left him in places he did not expect but I did not know how bad it was until I read his book. Talk about redemption!! The grace of God surely was with him. I highly recommend this book. Even if you are not familiar with Michael English, the story is great!
Chicken Soup for the American Idol Soul
This book was given to me for Christmas by my lovely sister-in-law, I think partially as a serious gift and partially as joke. She knows my husband and I enjoy watching AI and she does not! It's been a running joke among us for a long time. So, any way. I began to skim through the stories awhile back but I picked it up recently and read through the whole book in a matter of a couple of days. It was a nice quick read and was a break when I needed one. I enjoy the short stories which makes it easy to put down and come back to.
I am now working on Like Dandelion Dust by Karen Kingsbury. Karen is one of my absolute favorite authors. I have been told that this book is about to be made into a movie and so I would like to finish it so that when the movie is out I will already have it read.
So there you have it. I told you it wasn't much, but if you know how long it typically takes me to read through a book you'd be impressed. It's been a crazy year so far, so I'm pretty proud of myself for reading this much. I do plan on cracking down and reading more. So, until the next book is finished...Happy Readings!
